Well it hasn't been the best couple of weeks from a racing standpoint ...

The No. 55 Prism Motorsports car missed the Sprint Cup race at Chicagoland. We blew up two motors in the No. 81 MacDonald Motorsports car that same weekend in Chicago. Then we headed south to St. Louis and Gateway with the No. 81 and missed the race. Man, that's rough.

On the bright side, I took time with the McFamily on our three-week adventure through the Midwest. We did a lot of sightseeing in Chicago, visiting Navy Pier, the Lincoln Park Zoo and Shedd Aquarium. We also went to visit my grandfather that lives in a small town about 45 minutes west of the track. My son, Trace, got to spend time with his Great Grandpa Bill and Rita. My grandfather has an alpaca farm so Trace thought that was pretty cool. What's an alpaca? It's kind of like a small llama.

St. Louis started out bad and ended bad. We went to the children's museum with Trace, which was really fun. But after that, we stopped by Target to do some restocking for the McCoach and Trace decided to do a back-flip out of the shopping cart and landed on his head. He suffered a concussion, which meant a short trip to the hospital. Thankfully, he's doing fine, but it did knock him silly for a while. We won't even discuss the racing part of Gateway. Trust me, it was bad

Finally, we're here in Indy needing a big week. Not just in the Sprint Cup Series, but in the Nationwide Series. The No. 81 K-LOVE car has to make it in this weekend and we need a great finish. Our team is struggling right now to keep the car on the race track without some sponsorship and - if we don't have some success - we will be in big trouble. The No. 55 Prism Motorsports Sprint Cup car spent some time at Michael Waltrip Racing this week getting tuned up, so I think it will be pretty good. We just have to remember to stay positive, encouraging K-LOVE this weekend and see what God has in store for us.
